A year ago today Notre Dame Cathedral began to burn in a freak accident. People around the world gathered to pray and wondered what this could, especially since it came during Lent. A few days later, I penned these lines, now published at The Imaginative Conservative, reflecting on this horrible accident.

From arches old, the fire enfolds the spire.
The holy relics, art, and host were saved.
The stellar ceiling now reveals the graven
Sky. The circling stars shine through the fire.
