Christ in Creation: A Poem for Easter

Christ is risen! Let us feast and let us never forget that all Creation will be transformed by the resurrected Christ!

“Christ in Creation”

The risen Word gives rise to the written word
For which the holy monks made illuminations.
They saw virility in the living earth
And brought to life the Scriptures through creation.
They saw the smoke of mystic incense rising,
Capturing it in their sacred knots.
Their devotion shouldn’t be surprising,
They saw with eyes that we have long since lost.
Jesus was found in every brook and stream,
Swimming with dolphins and flying with the birds.
He came to them as though a waking dream,
His voice in every wind and song was heard.
By their love for the risen One,
They saw him in the moon, the stars, the sun.
