It has been some time since I last updated this website. Oh, I’d come and tinker every now and then, adding an image, or changing the template. But I wasn’t really sure how I was going to use it. For the most part, I’ve been directing people to my blog at Patheos Catholic (Letters from the Edge of Elfland, in case you didn’t know). After all, Patheos has a wider reach than I do on my own. Still, I thought perhaps it was time to make better use of this website. After all, I’ve had some exciting new developments since it started.
For instance, three years ago, while I had dabbled in poetry. I had never published any. Now, as of this writing, I’ve had 16 poems accepted for publication and 9 of them have already come out. You can see what poems are currently published on my Publications page.
I’ve also been doing a fair amount of writing outside of my blog, particularly for U.S. Catholic Magazine. Again, you can find those on the Publications page. And I’ve given several papers and presentations (which, you guessed it, can be found on the Presentations page).
I’ve even started a podcast, To Wonder and to Wander, which can be found on podbean or iTunes (I may try to figure out getting it onto other podcasting sites as well) and have been making updates to both my personal YouTube channel and my pipe smoking YouTube Channel (please, don’t judge the early videos too harshly, I was in my early 20s).
Overall, a lot of good has happened in the last three years, even though there have been some dark times as well. Nevertheless, I’m hoping to make 2020 something of an annus mirabilis. I want to do more writing for publications, write and publish more poetry (I’m working on a collection write now). I hope to speak more and teach more.
So, I’m hoping you all (or you few since I’ve neglected you all for so long) will come along for the ride. I’ll be posting updates to my various ventures here on the blog, probably backdating a few from the past few months. So in your kindness, say some prayers as I venture more into writing this year. And if you happen to be looking for someone to write for you or come speak on any number of topics at your parish, let me know.
Until next time.
